Sample Wedding Anniversary Toast

Once upon a time, there lived a chestnut-haired beauty,
And since this is my poem, we'll call her Judee.
A winsome young schoolteacher, she left the northeast behind,
Perhaps in sunny south Florida a mate she would find.
Somewhere across town, mah jongg was being played,
When fateful words crossed the lips of a cousin named Rae,
"I have a lovely young cousin--we need to find her intended,"
Right there and then, the conversation ended.
Bam! Crack! Grandma Sarah threw the tile that clocked her,
"Sounds like she'd be perfect for my son the doctor!"
So our charming resident Howard cast former redheads aside,
And in June of 1974 took Judee for his bride.
And so they began to create memories of their own,
First baby, Marissa, first cool car Alfa Romeo and first beautiful lakefront
home.
Then our darling Lindsay came, she was a dear, yes sir,
But unless you were her mother you just could not get near her!
And then a momentous occasion, the birth of Prince Adam, holy cow!
We all thanked G-d they got "the boy," or we'd still be hearing it now!
Howard hung up his shingle at our family's place,
Where brother Earl, Grandma Sarah and Papa Jack all shared office space.
With a genuine love for Israel they served the boards of Federation,
And set off for Ha Eretz, on an annual vacation.
Back at home they traversed south Florida in search of sporting events:
To the Panthers, Heat and Marlins games very often they went.
We count on Aunt Judee to plan fabulous parties, at least twice a year
We descend upon her house at Chanukah and break fast armed with appetites and good cheer.
Each party is a colorful masterpiece;  she really has a special flair,
For coordinating everything, she ís a hostess extraordinare.
Howard and Judees most recent acquisition is their special "Island Retreat,"
A place on the Vineyard to reflect on life and memories so sweet.
Having said all this, I think it's time to raise our glasses in good cheer
And wish Howard and Judee Mazel Tov, here's to another 25 years!

Sample Birthday Poem

Happpy Birthday to our favorite tutor,
The lovely Mrs. Brown.
Such a generous spirit and a truly kind heart,
We're so glad you decided to be a part
Of our weekly MahJongg "girls night out,"
It's been great finding out what you're all about!
Happy  Birthday Lisa and many more,
Enjoy all the wonders this year has in store.

Sample Party Poem
The Barrons are glad to be here,
To join in Sandy's celebration,
And we wrote her a little poem,
That we'll deliver without hesitation.
Sandy's big birthday is a great time to reflect,
On all our special memories,
The ways our families connect.
Born on April Fool's Day, our Sandy, so sweet,
Would find her life's calling at 30,000 feet!
Ronnie was airport security, and had cause for alarm,
When he met this blonde-haired beauty, pouring coffee, Tea and charm.
That summer they fell in love and future plans were laid,
And he whisked that gal out of Scarborough, --the best move he ever made!
Blissfully married, their hearts in a whirl,
They proceeded to have girls, girls, girls!
Judging from their 9-girl family history,
Making a boy remains somewhat a mystery!
Sandy and I love to share weekends away,
Sometimes Howard and Ronnie join in our play,
Wih husbands in tow we braved a Poconos retreat,
A couple of huge pregnant gals in the Honeymoon Suite!
And how about the time Jessica
Caught her hair in the drain?
Stuck in the bathtub, in a lot of pain,
Supermom Sandy, resourceful as ever,
Gave daughter a snorkel; wasn't she clever!
As families we love to be anywhere together,
The Vineyard, Canyon Ranch or skiing in Canada,
In all kinds of weather,
She taught my husband Howard and our kids to ski,
And I think the only place that she would rather be,
Is scouting out cosmetics at our local Target store,
Over creams and makeup she always loves to pore.
Our own "Mrs. Fix-It," Sandy can be found,
Making home repairs or hoeing up the ground.
Gardening's a fun hobby, but exercise is a passion,
A natural athlete and beauty, Sandy's always in fashion.
I mustn't forget her love for golf,
It does take center stage,
How many women have a handicap lower than their age?
So as my tribute nears its end,
I'll extend best wishes to my cousin and friend,
Let's raise a glass, to love and good cheer,
Happy Birthday Sandy, to another 50 years!

Sample Candlelighting Poem

They have two homes, we've always said,
One in Cleveland and one down here,
As soon as the chilly winds start to blow,
They magically appear!
She's a shopper from the get go, full of vigor and voom--
He's our favorite electrician--he really lights up a room!
We love GG and Papa; each year we look forward to more fun,
Please come up and join me and light candle number one.

Sample Invitation

Calling new board members, one and all,
You're invited to tea--our first event this fall!
Before the first cup of tea is poured
We want to welcome you a "board,"
And over homebaked cakes and treats,
You'll have a chance to meet and greet,
The wonderful women with whom you'll be working,
We'll learn about each other while the coffee's perking!
